FAQs

  • Biblical marriage stands as a sacred covenant ordained by God, designed as a voluntary, lifelong union between one biological man and one biological woman from different families.

Embedded in the fabric of creation, marriage's purpose echoes the divine intention of glorifying God through procreation, fostering intimate companionship, and upholding social order.

Within this sacred bond, husbands are called to lead with love and humility, while wives are called to support and collaborate, nurturing a relationship built on mutual respect and partnership.

Despite the pervasive effects of sin, the redemptive power of Jesus Christ reinstates the original intent for marriage, emphasizing mutual submission and sacrificial love between spouses.

At its core, marriage embodies the essence of mutual love, respect, and fidelity, mirroring the divine union between Christ and his Church.

Marriage stands as a pledge to unwavering faithfulness, sustained by the grace and forgiveness offered through the gospel of Jesus Christ.

  • Gender and sexuality stand as integral elements of God's intentional design and purpose for humanity, as depicted in the Genesis narrative where God fashioned mankind, male and female, in His own image.

Gender represents a biological reality that mirrors the inherent distinctions between male and female.

Far from being arbitrary constructs subject to human whims, gender and sexuality are divinely ordained with specific roles and profound meanings.

Despite humanity's rebellion and the resulting distortions, gender and sexuality are sacred aspects of human existence, affirmed by teachings from both the Old and New Testaments.

At its core, the overarching aim of gender and sexuality is to mirror the divine union between Christ and His Church.

Empowered by the gospel, believers are called to honor God with their bodies, embracing appropriate gender norms, and abstaining from sexual immorality, thereby living in harmony with God's intended design for humanity.

  • The Bible repeatedly affirms that God pours out His Spirit upon both men and women and thereby gifts both sexes for ministry in His Church. Joel 2:28-29 prophesies, “And afterward, I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your old men will dream dreams, your young men will see visions. Even on my servants, both men and women, I will pour out my Spirit in those days.” This prophecy is powerfully reaffirmed in Acts 2:17-18 during the outpouring of the Holy Spirit at Pentecost, illustrating the inclusive nature of God's call to ministry.

Throughout the New Testament, we see clear examples of women who played significant roles in the early Church. In Romans 16:1, Paul commends Phoebe, a church deacon, for her service and leadership. He also acknowledges Junia as outstanding among the apostles in Romans 16:7, recognizing her significant contribution to the spread of the Gospel. Priscilla, alongside her husband Aquila, is noted for her teaching ministry and for explaining “the way of God more accurately” to Apollos in Acts 18:26. Furthermore, in Philippians 4:2-3, Paul mentions Euodia and Syntyche as women who have “contended at my side in the cause of the gospel,” highlighting their active engagement in ministry.

The Apostle Paul’s writings further emphasize the equality of men and women in Christ. Galatians 3:28 states, “There is neither Jew nor Greek, slave nor free, male nor female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus.” This verse underscores the theological foundation for gender equality in ministry, affirming that all believers, regardless of gender, are equal partners in the work of the Gospel.

Therefore, we must continue to affirm and celebrate the gifts of women in ministry and spiritual leadership. The full engagement of all believers, empowered by the Holy Spirit, is essential for fulfilling the Great Commission of making disciples of all nations (Matthew 28:19). As we embrace this divine calling, we recognize that the effective proclamation of the Gospel and the building of Christ’s Church require the contributions of both men and women, fully utilizing the diverse gifts bestowed by the Spirit. By doing so, we honor the biblical mandate and follow the example set by the early Church, ensuring that every gift is used to its fullest potential for the glory of God.
